and, well – it’s the ‘someday‘ house. Allow me to elaborate.
Houses are incredibly expensive right now. Some people might say that t to buy a house in this market is kind of signing your own life away as folks are typically overpaying and getting in these incredible “bidding” wars over move-in ready houses. You know which houses are NOT getting the same kind of love? Someday houses. Houses that can someday be home, but don’t quite feel like home yet. Houses that need some elbow grease and a lot of late knights. (this is a pun, haha). Ours sat on the market for 120 days, waiting for us. Closing was a strange fiasco all on it’s own, but fortunately stars aligned and this house became home on March 30th, 2022. It’s our ‘someday’ house, that we have to live in right now.
Someday, this house won’t need anything new.
Someday, this house will be leak free.
Someday, we might actually get to sit down and enjoy it.
Someday, this house is going to be home.
BUT UNTIL THEN!
We are making the best of what we have – since we’re now (mostly) out of money.
The next few years are going to be a lot of fun adventures including framing “adjustments”, smashing down plaster walls & ceilings, exchanging a few toilets, sinks, cabinets, outlets and swapping out our Sherwin William’s favorite sea salt for some new ‘together’ vibes – we might even plant a few new trees.
We want you to come along for the journey. “Someday I Will” is a Jimmy Buffet song. It felt like it made sense.
